For those of you who wish to hire or use your own light aircraft, the Private PilotsLicence (PPL) course offers you the training and experience you need – all of our training is approved by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). If you want to go further and pursue a professional aviation career via the Modular route, the PPL is the first step.
The EASA Private PilotsLicence (PPL) course at British Aviation Center combines both practical flight training and the theoretical knowledge required to fly light aeroplanes or helicopters within the UK and Europe.
The course requires a minimum of forty-five hours flying time – including ten hours solo – ending with a skills test with an examiner. The skills test will examine your general handling and navigation skills.
Total instruction time given is 50 hours minimum.
Preparation for exams:
All of the exams are in the multiple-choice format and require a 75% pass mark.

After completing the flight training the trainee shall have the required flight experience required by CAA authorities,

The applicant has to demonstrate the theoretical knowledge at the CAA office in the form of written tests. Tests consist of nine subjects (Meteorology, Navigation, Communications, Aircraft General Knowledge, Principles of flight, Air Law, Flight performance and planning, Human Performance and limitations, Operational procedures).
A pass in a subject is awarded to an applicant achieving at least 75% of the marks allocated to that subject. Theoretical examination for the PPL(A)/(H) must be successfully passed at the CAA within a period of 12 months from date of completion the ground training in the ATO.
The practical skill exam is performed in flight with the authorized CAA examiner and can be taken after successful completion of the written tests at the CAA authority. The applicant must demonstrate the ability to:
